Announcing 75th Anniversary Sponsorships

The Greendale Public Celebrations Committee officially announces the availabiltiy of sponsorship opportunities for Greendale's 75th Diamond Celebration in 2013.

Working and Celebrating Together: From the very beginning in 1938, Greendale residents have worked together and celebrated together. This sense of community is key to the Greendale way of life. Now it is time to celebrate another milestone, the 75th Anniversary of the beginning of Greendale.

The Public Celebrations Committee is announcing sponsorship opportunites for this year-long event, including a 75th Commemorative Booklet. This booklet will feature the calendar of events for 2013, a brief history of the founding of Greendale, a look at Greendale today, ads and congratulatory messages from organizations, businesses and individuals.

This booklet will be a true collectors treasure, and will be delivered to every Greendale household in December of 2012. Other sponsorship options include booths at the vendor fair during Village Days 2013, name on event signage, name and logo on 75th website, and recognition on the 75th video of the 2013 events. Sponsorship levels include Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze (see the attached document for details).

On May 1st, 1938 residents officially started moving into the new 'originals'. In 2013 a remarkable 75 years will have passed. That is a milestone in the history of any community, but more significant as Greendale was only one of three Greenbelt communities built as part President Roosevelt's New Deal. It was an experiment intended to develop affordable housing in the aftermath of the Great Depression. Its success was questioned, but 75 years later Greendale is still here, and thriving. The Public Celebrations Committee encourages everyone to participate in the celebration. Sponsorships will be used to fund events for everyone's enjoyment.
