Ad Hoc Committee for Village Center Redevelopment To Be Discussed at Board Meeting

Names will be brought forth by Village President John Hermes. The board will make recommendations to the president as to who should be on the committee.

The formation of the ad hoc committee that will help develop a plan for the future of the Village Center will be discussed at Tuesday's board meeting. 

Village President John Hermes has been collecting names of those interested in joining the committee. He will bring forth the names to the board and recommendations will be made to Hermes, who will make the final selection.

The committee will be made up of representatives from the Board of Trustees, Greendale School District, Greendale Historical Society, a Greendale business owner, Planning Commission, Village Manager and a number of residents.

Village Center redevelopment concept plans were presented at open houses in February and April. Multi-residential buildings in all five concepts were met with resistance from residents and some Village trustees. 

This led to the decision to eliminate the housing portion of the concepts.

This is part of a plan to bring more life into the Village Center and find new uses for the parking lot on Parking Street.

The board will meet on July 17, Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Village Hall.
