75th Anniversary Kick-Off is May 1 at Village Hall

The Village will also celebrate its National Historic Landmark designation that day.

For those who can’t wait until August to celebrate the Village’s 75th anniversary, a special kick-off event has been slated for May 1.

That day, the Village will commemorate its official anniversary date and its National Historic Landmark designation, which it received last fall.

The event is slated for 4 p.m. on the front lawn of Village Hall. A portion of Northway and Broad Street will be closed during the event.

"We look forward to that celebration," Village President John Hermes said.

Invitations have been sent to federal, state and county elected officials, the National Park Service, Wisconsin Historical Society and members of the State Historic Preservation Review Board. An attendee from the National Park Service will present Greendale with the National Historic Landmark plaque at the event.
