Wrong-Way Driver Charged With 3rd OWI

Police say a 34-year-old Beaver Dam man drove the wrong way on 76th Street after drinking at a pro-wrestling event in Milwaukee.

A 34-year-old Beaver Dam man who police say drove the wrong way on 76th Street in Greendale has been charged with four offenses, including his third drunken driving. 

A police officer saw Michael Cisneros going northbound in the southbound lanes of 76th Street near Edgehill Road and almost strike a vehicle head-on about 1:35 a.m. March 11, according to a criminal complaint.

When the officer pulled Cisneros over, he noted the smell of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, according to the complaint. Cisneros told the officer he drank two or three beers while attending a pro wrestling event in downtown Milwaukee.

He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where a test revealed a blood-alcohol content of .29, according to the complaint. Police also found Cisneros was driving with a revoked license from a 2005 OWI conviction.

He was charged with a felony count of recklessly endangering safety, as well as third-offense drunken driving, operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration and operating while revoked.

The charges carry a combined maximum sentence of 13 years imprisonment and $31,500 in fines.

Cisneros will make his initial court appearance Monday.
