Woman Pulls Knife During Armed Robbery Attempt at Southridge

A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of pulling a knife on a woman in the Southridge Mall parking lot during an attempted armed robbery.

Angela Menges was charged with attempted armed robbery, a felony, in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Sept. 23. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 20 years of imprisonment, $50,000 in fines or both.

According to court documents, the woman was inside her car when Menges knocked on her window. The woman rolled her window down about a third of the way when Menges stuck a knife through the opening, according to the criminal complaint.

Menges told the woman she was going to stab her if she didn’t give Menges her purse. The woman was able to roll her window up and drive away, but not before she got Menges’ license plate number.
