Woman, 82, Fatally Struck by Car Among Top 2012 Stories

Patch will be counting down the top Greendale stories of 2012 leading up to New Year Day. Today's story is about an elderly woman who was fatally struck by a car driven by a Jimmy John's driver.

Greendale had its fair share of news coming from Southridge Mall, Downtown Greendale and some crime. We will be counting down the top 10 most read Greendale stories of 2012 leading up to New Years Day. 

Number 6: 

An 82-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car near the intersection of Grange Avenue and South 68th Street, near Southridge Mall in December.

The driver was a Jimmy John's delivery driver who was not under the influence of any illegal substances. 

Police said they believe she was walking to or from her home shortly when she was struck. The woman was in the crosswalk dressed in dark clothing at the time of the accident. Video surveillance shows that the traffic signal was green on Grange Avenue.
