A 52-year-old Franklin man is facing his third drunken driving charge after he was caught allegedly speeding through Greendale in August.
Darren D. Host was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of third offense operating while intoxicated. If convicted, he faces up to one years in county jail and $2,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Aug. 22, a Greendale police officer spotted Host in the 5900 block of West Loomis Road doing 59 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour speed zone. The officer pulled him over and could smell alcohol coming from inside the car.
Host failed several field sobriety tests, then became argumentative and uncooperative with the officer, so he was placed under arrest. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for a blood test, which revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.101.
Host was previously convicted of OWI in 1997 and 1998. He will make his initial appearance in court Oct. 1.
