Police: Holiday Family Troubles, Drugs/Drinking and Theft

Christmas week was busy for Greendale police as they responded to calls about family problems, drugs, drunk driving and theft.

The Greendale Police Department call log for Dec. 21 to Dec. 27 includes calls about family problems, drugs, drunk driving and theft.

Holiday family trouble: Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at 2:22 p.m. on Christmas Eve in the 7700 block of W. Grange St. The caller reported that one of her granddaughters pushed her into stove and spilled food all over kitchen. The 20-year-old granddaughter fled the scene prior to police arrival.

A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for violating a restraining order and operating while intoxicated Dec. 21 after a caller reported that her estranged husband followed her to Speedway, blocked her in with his vehicle, hit her car and drove away at 11:01 p.m.

A 26-year old Greendale man was arrested for domestic violence-battery after a woman reported that her extremely intoxicated son hit her husband Dec. 27 at 4:29 a.m. in the 6000 block Oakwood Lane West.

Christmas drunken driving: A 21-year-old Franklin man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and speeding 60 mph in a 45 mph zone Dec. 25 at 1:40 a.m. at Loomis Avenue and 76th Street.

Drugs

A 22-year-old Pell Lake man was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia Dec. 26 after police investigated a vehicle parked behind Crossfit, at West College Avenue and Riverdale Lane, at 12:45 a.m.

A 28-year-old Cudahy man was arrested for operating after suspension, possessing drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon after police conducted a traffic stop Dec. 27 at 7:55 p.m. near 60th Street and Greenway.

Theft

A Franklin woman reported Dec. 27  at 12:02 p.m that someone broke into her car and stolen her Louis Vuitton purse and a pair of Chanel sunglasses while the car was parked in the 6700 block of South 92nd Street.

A theft of a wallet was reported at Greendale High School on Dec. 21. The wallet was taken Dec. 20.

From Dec. 21 through Dec. 27, 12 people were cited for retail theft at shops in Southridge Mall, including six women, four juveniles and two men.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
