Police: Drunken Driver Was Four Times Over Limit, Caused Injury

This week's police reports also include an assault at Southridge Mall and a dog attacked by a pitbull.

A 57-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving-causing injury following an accident at Grange Avenue and 60th Street about 3:55 p.m. March 16. The man had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .32, four times the legal limit to drive. He was also arrested for open intoxicants and improper right turn. The driver of the vehicle he hit declined an ambulance.

A person was assaulted near the Macy's entrance of Southridge Mall, 5300 S. 76th St., about 8:35 a.m. March 16.

A woman was arrested for retail theft and drug paraphernalia possession at Kohl's in Southridge Mall about 1:10 p.m. March 16.

A woman was cited for possession of a theft detection shielding device at the Buckle in Southridge Mall about 4:30 p.m. March 16.

A man told police his dog was attacked by a pitbull in the 8900 block of Root River Parkway about 8:40 a.m. March 17. He said the owner of the pitbull refused to give any of his information and almost struck the man as he drove away. The pitbull owner was later cited for dog at large.

A woman was arrested for drunken driving and speeding in the 5600 block of W. Loomis Road about 3:23 a.m. March 18. She had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .10.

Graffiti was found on the back of Canterbury Elementary School, 7000 Enfield Ave., about 6:20 a.m. March 18. It appeared to say "TEMPO," matching other graffiti found over the last several weeks. Police also reported similar graffiti at Midwest Bleacher, 6050 Industrial Court, about 2 p.m. March 20.
