No Connection Between Last Weekend's Fires

Both fires were within a couple of blocks away from each other.

Greendale Police released a statement that says there was no connection between the two fires that ignited over the weekend near Greenway less than 30 minutes apart.

There was minor damage to vehicles and neighboring residences, with no reported injuries, according to police. The fire is currently under investigation by the department.

The second fire was called in at 3:55 a.m. at Greenway Apartments on 6500 block of Greenway.

Someone broke into a man's residence through the bathroom window and started a fire on the bed while the resident slept in the living room, according to police reports. Several coins were stolen and the mattress was completely destroyed due by the fire that was started by a book of matches.

Again, police say there was no connection between the two fires.
