A 43-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he allegedly got into trouble in Greendale while using his brother’s name, then never showed up for court.
Louis V. Rodriguez was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of obstructing an officer. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
Rodriguez’s brother went to the on June 23 after police were called to his home and they said he had an active arrest warrant pending against him from an incident in December where he was pulled over for operating a motor vehicle without a license. However, the man said he wasn’t the one driving the car and when officers pulled up the booking photo it confirmed he wasn’t the one charged.
The victim said Rodriguez is his brother and is wanted by the Milwaukee Police Department for a sexual assault and must have gotten his license from the victim’s ex-wife.
Rodriguez is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court Sept. 11.
