Man Flees Police After Theft at Southridge Mall

A not-so-innocent bystander was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and threw in a bad decision for good measure.

According to Greendale police, a man left the back room of Finish Line at Southridge Mall on Sept. 30 with two bags of stolen items. Officers confronted the man at the bus stop in front of McDonald’s on South 76th Street, and he fled.

He dropped the bags by Burger King and was eventually arrested for receiving stolen property and trespassing when police found him in the Greenfield Fashion Center.

Meanwhile, another subject who was not involved in the theft, tried to take the bags that were dropped by Burger King. Turns out that person had an arrest warrant through the Greenfield Police Department and was warned about obstructing a police officer.
