Man Attacks Brother With a Sword; Wheelchair stolen from someone at Southridge

This week's police report includes a woman falling victim to an Internet scam and a large fire in the backyard of a residence.

These incidents are part of the Greendale police's weekly call sheet from Nov. 9-16

On Nov. 14, a man in the 8800 block of Greenwood Lane called 911 after reporting his 19-year-old brother attacked him with a large sword. The victim said he was arguing with his brother when the suspect got the sword, then cut the victim’s finger.

The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

Other incidents from the police report include:

  • On Nov. 10, a 26-year-old Greendale man was arrested for operating while intoxicated near South 45th Street and West Grange Avenue.
  • On Nov. 11, police were called to a report of a large fire in the backyard of a residence in the 7000 block of Darnell Lane. The fire was put out by the Greendale Fire Department and the homeowner was cited for negligent handling of burning materials.
  • On Nov. 12, a man living in the 4500 block of West Ramsey Avenue reported his residence was burglarized while he was out of town.
  • On Nov. 13, a wheelchair was reported stolen from the food court at Southridge Mall.
