Greendale Police Investigating Two Large Tool Thefts

Greendale police are investigating a pair of large tool thefts that occurred overnight or in the early morning hours Sept. 17.

A resident in the 5300 block of Olympia Lane told police his truck was broken into and numerous power tools including drills, saws and more, a roll of copper wire, a job site radio and more were missing.

The man said his door handles were damaged during the break-in and will need to be replaced.

He told police that at 9 p.m. Sept. 16, a person representing Greendale Baptist Church came to the door, which the man thought was unusual given the time of night.

In another incident, a man in the 5400 block of Oxford Drive reported his unlocked work trailer attached to his truck was broken into and that approximately $1,500 worth of equipment was stolen.

Among the items taken were landscaping equipment, including a blower, trimmer and chain saw, and 15 gallons of gasoline.
