A Greendale man is facing charges after he robbed his cousin on the north side of Milwaukee after the victim refused to give him $3.

On July 23, the victim was hanging out with Cantrell — who also goes by the name “fatty” and is a cousin of the victim — in the 2900 block of North 25th Street when Cantrell asked for $3. The victim then tried to leave, but Cantrell got angry and began to punch him in the face.

The victim fell to the ground and Cantrell and several other men continued to kick and hit the victim. Cantrell then went into the man’s pockets and took $180, a phone charger and the victim’s Nike Air Force One shoes.

Eventually the victim was able to get away and while running he heard a gunshot ring out. The victim and his father were able to flag down two Milwaukee police officers on bicycle patrol. As officers went to the place of the beating, Cantrell and another man saw the cops and began to run.

The other man stopped when commanded, but Cantrell continued to run, but was caught a short distance later.

Cantrell had blood spatter on his shoes and shirt and a semi-automatic pistol was found on the ground next to him.

Cantrell is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $5,000 bond and has been ordered over to the JUSTICE 2000 program for supervision while awaiting trial.
