Five OWIs in Greendale this Past Week; One Man Tries to Flee After Hit-And-Run Crash

These occurred from April 20 to April 24, according to Greendale Police reports.

  • A 28-year-old man was arrested after he struck the side of a garage with a car on Parkview Road while intoxicated and fled the scene on Wednesday. The man then went to his home where he parked his car in the garage. Police located him and reported severe front-end damage to the car.

The man was arrested for second offense OWI, causing property damage, suspended registration, hit-and-run and failure to keep vehicle under control. No alcohol was detected, but drugs were a suspected factor, said Sgt. Bridgette Paul.

  • A 46-year-old Greendale man was arrested on Wednesday for a second offense OWI with a BAC of .26 on Root River Drive. A person had called the police and reported that the man expressed road rage when he flipped off a woman.
  • A 71-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving on Friday after he tried to elude the police near the intersection of Loomis Road and 68th Street. The man drove into his garage and was arrested for third offense OWI with a BAC of .10 and failure to obey an officer.
  • A 20-year-old woman called police for assistance with a flat tire on Saturday night and was then arrested for first offense OWI with a BAC of .11 on Broad Street and Northway.
  • A 22-year-old Greendale woman was arrested  on Sunday for speeding and OWI with a BAC of .14 on South 76th Street and Highview Drive.
