Elderly Woman Hit By Car Outside of Walmart

The driver was arrested for driving without a license and insurance after the incident June 24.

The driver of a car that reportedly struck an elderly woman with a walker in the roadway in front of Walmart on 76th Street was arrested for driving without a license and insurance and for not using a child safety restraint June 24.

The woman who was hit was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, according to the Greendale Police Department.

The extent of her injuries were not known.

That and the following incidents were included in the Greendale Police Department’s media summary for the week of June 21-27:

  • A mother who left her 5-year-old and 11-month-old unattended in a van in the Southridge Mall parking lot June 27 was arrested for child neglect.
  • An adult female who was reportedly in a fight near the food court of Southridge Mall was arrested for disorderly conduct June 26.
  • A man in the 6100 block of Highland Lane was arrested for domestic violence – disorderly conduct after his mother called police to escort him to a detox center for alcohol and prescription drug abuse June 23.
  • A woman was arrested for drunken driving after she sheared a fire hydrant off the ground with her car in the 5800 block of Oxford Drive just after midnight June 23.
