St. Alphonsus in Greendale Causes $200,000 in Damages.

The fire started just after midnight following a 10 p.m. Mass on Saturday night.

A fire that broke out early Christmas morning at , damaging the building and forcing the church to cancel its scheduled Masses on Sunday caused $200,000 in damages.

The church held a Mass at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. The fire started at around 12:25 a.m. 

No injuries are reported in the fire.

The fire started in the parish school and "extensive" smoke damage to the church, according to a press release from Greendale police.

The State Fire Marshall and have not yet determined the cause.

Other fire departments sent equipment and personnel to assist in the fire —Greenfield, Franklin, Hales Corners, South Milwaukee, New Berlin, Tess Corners, Wauwatosa, 128thAir Refueling Wing and Cudahy.
