Candidates For Greendale Police Chief All From Milwaukee County Agencies

Three of them have ties to Greendale.

All of the candidates being considered for the Greendale police chief position are from Milwaukee county policing agencies and will be interviewed this week by Greendale Police and Fire Commission, said commission president David Wilmoth.

Robert Dams retired as police chief on Dec 31, 2010 after 37 years with the Greendale police department. Since then the police and fire commission has been reviewing applications and has narrowed it down to six β€” three of them have ties to Greendale.

The hired police chief would head up the 56-member police department and the annual salary for the position isΒ $80,568 to $100,095.

Robert Malasuk is the current Interim Police Chief of the Greendale Police Department. Before that he was the captain of the department and served a detective. Malasuk was recently selected as the 2013 president of the Wisconsin Association of Homicide Investigators. He also has taught criminal studies at couple of colleges.

According to the Wauwatosa Police Department 2008 Annual Report Weber holds or has held memberships/positions at the International Association of Chiefs of Police, F.B.I. National Academy Associates, Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, Milwaukee County Law Enforcement Executives Association, Wisconsin Police Executive Group, Wauwatosa Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellowship - Wauwatosa Rotary 1995, Faculty Member - Upper Iowa University, and Faculty Member – Concordia University.

Randolph Pruss is the director of Security at Southridge Mall and was formerly Captain of the Greendale Police Department.

In an interview with Muskego Patch editor Denise Konkol Schroeder said, "I have a career in law enforcement, and am hoping to advance in my career as police chief. I had also hoped to continue my career here in southeastern Wisconsin and when I saw that the former chief was retiring, I saw this as a great opportunity."

Gregory A. Habeck is the Assistant Chief of the UW-Milwaukee Police Department and a former Assistant Chief of the Milwaukee Police Department.

Patrick M. Balistrier is a retired Deputy Chief of the West Allis Police Department.

The police and fire commission will hold interviews tonight, Wednesday and Thursday.
