4th OWI Charge for Greendale Man
Police arrested a 49-year-old Greendale man for drunken driving Monday after observing him driving erratically and on a flat tire prompted a traffic stop.
A Greendale man arrested for drunken driving on Monday after police observed him driving on a flat tire at 2:40 in the morning has been charged with his fourth OWI offense.
Robert Lemke Jr., 49, was charged Tuesday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with operating while intoxicated fourth offense, a misdemeanor. Lemke entered a not guilty plea during a court appearance on Thursday.
If convicted, he could face up to one year in county jail, $2,000 in fines, or both. The charge does carry a minimum of 60 days in county jail and a $600 fine.

According to the criminal complaint:
On June 17 at about 2:40 a.m., Greenfield police say they observed Lemke deviating from his lane while driving in the 7600 block of West Layton Avenue. Police say the front passenger tire on Lemke’s car was flat.

Lemke smelled of alcohol and slurred his words when he spoke during a traffic stop, the criminal complaint says.
Lemke told police he had two or three drinks before driving and he later failed an on-scene sobriety test, the court documents read.
He refused to submit to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content, according to the criminal complaint.
Lemke has three prior OWI convictions in 1995, 1997 and 2009, according to court documents.
He is due in court July 9 for a pre-trail conference, according to online court documents. He is currently being held in the county jail.
