Calling All Parents, Coaches, Athletes: Share Your Team News on Patch

We're looking for coaches, players, parents, booster-club members and fans who want to share news, information and photos about local school teams and other area youth sports teams.

Are you a sports fanatic? Whether you’re an expert, a player, a coach, a parent or just a fan, the Waukesha community wants to hear from you!

Greendale Patch is seeking youth sports bloggers who are interested in sharing their thoughts on local school and other youth sports. Sports bloggers can post photos, game coverage and even just their opinions on situations, events and games.

If you have inside information on what goes on at Waukesha-area sports matchups, we want you to blog on Greendale Patch’s free Local Voices platform.

What You Get Out of It

Find out what's happening in Greendalewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

As a Local Voices blogger, you’ll have the ear of local residents, so you can keep the community posted on all of your games, fundraisers, news, events and more. You can post photos and videos, too.

We regularly feature our bloggers on our homepage, so your voice will be heard. And if writing isn’t your thing, Greendale Patch is also looking for sports photographers and videographers to send us images of the games and matchups around town.

If you’ve got a big announcement or an exciting post, we’re happy to feature it on the front page and help you promote it.

Coaches, parents and booster clubs can use their Local Voices blogs to recruit new players, ask the community to help with funding for trips or equipment or even to share news on individual players.

You can even blog about local issues that aren’t directly related to youth sports, including things like law changes and other stories that relate to kids and families. It’s your blog, so you get to write what you want.

Student Bloggers Welcome

You don’t need any experience to get started, and it won’t cost you a thing, except a few moments of your time.

If you don’t think you’ll have time to keep up with a blog by yourself, remember that you can blog as a team. We’d also be happy to have blogs from individual students.

And if you're planning to go to college to pursue journalism, this is an ideal extracurricular activity and a great opportunity for you--and it will really enhance your college applications.

It’s All About You

This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that means you post multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

While there's no pay involved, you'll get to put your valuable views on a site that is increasingly serving as a community hub.

If you'd like to chat about the opportunity to share your unique voice with our readers, let me know by emailing the editor at viviana.buzo@patch.com. If you're ready to get started now, you can get started here.
