Obituary: Donald J. Baumgart

Former principal and Waterford town supervisor also known for his splendid acting ability.

Baumgart, Donald J. Our wonderful, wildly talented father, Donald J. Baumgart passed to Eternal peace Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at age 80 after a courageous fight with cancer.

A principal in the Greendale School system, a splendid actor, director with the Suburban Players of Greendale, a town supervisor for Waterford, cartoonist, multi-media artist and dear friend to many. If you knew him, you loved him for his integrity and brilliant sense of humor.

He leaves his devoted Gloria and their four children; Christopher, Susan (John), Cynthia and Stacy (Tom), his 5 grandchildren, and great - grandson. He was preceded in death by his second wife Sharon and leaves her children, Russell (Janet), Randy and Lori Long and their families. Don's spirit will always be with us and we can be sure our hearts will be lightened; he helped us see the beauty and fun of life. We love you Dad, you will be forever missed!

The family wishes to send their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff of Burlington Memorial Hospital, Kindred Care Nursing home and VITAS Hospice for their kind and loving care.

Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Wisconsin Memorial Park-Chapel of the Chimes (13235 W. Capitol Drive), from 11 a.m. until the time of committal prayers at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Because he so loved "da boyz" Fonzi and Vinni, memorials appreciated to Racine County Humane Society

We can look up to see who signed a recall of their elected official because of grievances, but weRead More cannot look up who donated large wads of ca$h to the same official's campaign...Thank you GOP for turning that window of open accountability into a one-way mirror with the GOP looking out and everyone else stuck looking inward, wandering why we don't get the same vantage point. A bit hypocritical don't you think? And BTW, your GOP budget just ticked off every principal, superintendent and public school family in the state of WI today. Good luck on that second term of negative growth (-0.74).

Jason- See the IRS for list of donors to pro republican groups. They were illegally collected andRead More distributed. You signed the recall, no one made you do it. Deal with it already and stop changing the subject to interject some off the wall non comparison. ~in solidarity

I think Scott Walker's record speaks for itself in terms of state job growth and misplacedRead More priorities. "Blue fisters" didn't create Scott Walker, he's been a creature of ALEC since the early 1990s. Let's see if he decides to do a Bachmann in 2014. A lot of people who didn't vote in the recall election because they didn't understand/agree may not have voted for him in 2010. Anyone who has a 20-something college grad who can't find a job, male spouse, family member or friend in their 50s who can't find a job, was cut from needed health care benefits, etc., is bound to be looking for better leadership.
