Obituary: Anton "Tony" Richter

A 1957 Greendale High School passed away at age 73.

November 14, 1938 - August 1, 2012

Anton “Tony” Richter, age 73, a resident of River Wood Estates, Manitowoc, and formerly of the Milwaukee area and Sun City West, AZ, entered eternal life on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Tony was born on November 14, 1938, in Milwaukee to the late Karl and Marion Langenkamp Richter. He graduated from Greendale High School in 1957. Tony was an OTR truck driver, retiring from USF Holland. On October 18, 1980, Tony married Lois Walders nee Schultz. Tony and Lois enjoyed retirement in Arizona. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2009. Tony enjoyed traveling, dancing, music, playing cards, and being with his family. He was proud to defend the border with the MCDC.

Survivors include Tony’s children: Sheryl Lundgren, Burlington; Connie (Randy) Kramer, Manitowoc; Mary Moore, Amelia Island, FL; Carolyn Petrie, Burnett; Fr. Charles Walders, DeForest; and Kathleen (Jay) Anderson, Woodstock, GA; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his brother-in-law: Bob Schultz, Oshkosh; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his wife: Lois; two brothers: Karl Jr. and Donald Richter; and one sister: Barbara Zainer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. David Arndt. Cremation will have taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 12:30 pm until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the funeral service, there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
