The Community Gathers at The Hose Tower on August 11

On August 11, The Hose Tower truly became a community gathering place as over 500 persons attended an Open House after the Village Days Parade.

Attendees had the opportunity to tour the interior and exterior of the building and witness the construction progress. Visitors were also able view interior artist renderings of the completed project.

The Greendale Historical Society is working complete the adaptive restoration of this Greendale icon complete with interior and exterior gathering spaces and public restrooms for the citizens and families of Greendale.

“We were very proud to share the progress we have made on The Hose Tower,” said Historical Society President Ted Mainella. “It is clear that the community is excited about this project which will preserve this building for future generations while returning it to community use.”

In 2013, the Village of Greendale’s historic district including The Hose Tower and old Police and Fire Station were officially designated as a National Historic Landmark.
