It might be sweltering in Greendale today, but the famous blizzard of 1947 started on January 28 and is a reminder of colder days ahead. The great storm brought over 18-inches of snow, 60 mph winds and drifts of 10 feet or more to Greendale. The snow was piled up to the second story of houses in the Village and people were left stranded for days. This photo shows villagers shoveling on Conifer Lane after the blizzard.
