Supporting Our Greendale Village Shop Owners!

I’m sure that most of you have seen the email making the rounds about keeping our Christmas cash in the USA.  I read it a few times and wondered what I would do about it.  I’m only one person, is my contribution going to make a difference?  I guess if you multiply that by a million or so other people, yes, it will make a difference.

This past Saturday, with some cash in my hot little hands, I decided that the majority of my gifts were to be bought in the Village of Greendale.  Who better to support?  Can’t get too much more local than that!  I wanted to share the little wealth that I had with the local shop owners.

I stopped at Little Shop Around the Corner & was lucky enough to see both Cathy & Jim there.  Oh!  The beautiful gifts all over the store.  I set my eyes on a small wall hanging made by a mother/daughter team in North Dakota.  I saw it, walked to the other side of the store to see something else & when I got back to it, it was gone.  But that was okay.  It was nice to know that they support some homegrown artists.

I also stopped at & had a sample of chocolate with vodka inside and grabbed a few gifts for my sister.  I wandered down to , found something for my mom, looked inside & saw the tag was “Made in the USA”.  Loved that!  Visited , got some of their delectable homemade candies.  Grabbed something from & made my way home.

I didn’t get to share with all of the shops, but I know now that in the future, all of my gifts are coming from the Village.  And I still have this week to wrap up my gift buying.

It’s what we need to do.  Buy local, support our shops!  When you love the Village atmosphere, you absolutely have to back them up so we can enjoy this gorgeous little town many years down the road.
