Gluten!

Living without gluten.

Gluten, gluten, gluten.  I hear the word all the time now.  Last week, I was shopping with a friend, when she mentioned how tired she is of hearing the word "gluten". Now, me being me, had to say it all the more. You see, I have Celiacs Disease. Which is connected to gluten.  It's not a fad.  It's here to stay. If you read food labels, not too many of them come out to say "I've got gluten!".  Of course not, they wouldn't make it that easy for us, now would they.  But, let me back up.  Celiacs is the intolerance of wheat, barley & rye.  I suffered for years before my doctor gave the diagnosis to me during Christmas of '08.  It was the best present I got.  There are over 250 symptoms.  I think I had 249.  Do you know how many foods have hidden wheat?  Tons.  Start reading labels.  It's amazing.  Celiacs disease attacks your "gut"; no, seriously, it's what my doctor calls it.  So, now I go to the doctor to discuss my gut.  Your small intestine is the victim.  It's unable to take in the nutrients we all need.  Especially Vitamin D.  More to come.
