"We have seen some of the smaller-scale concepts that Wal-Mart has implemented at other stores across the country, which often include a neighborhood look and feel that complements the surrounding area," said Village President John Hermes. "We have heard from our residents that they would like to see such a concept in Greendale.

“I look forward to receiving their proposal and listening to the feedback from our residents, as new development that adds to the value of our community is always a positive," Hermes said.  " The addition of a major retailer and grocery store would be a huge draw for our residents and the neighboring communities, and following the open house discussion we will determine the best course of action for the use of the site.”
