Southridge Boston Store Celebrating Renovations with Grand Re-opening

The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, giveaways and a fashion show.

The celebration will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. Aug. 22. Guest speakers will include Greendale Village President John Hermes and The Bon-Ton Stores Executive Vice President of Stores Steve Byers, who will kick off the festivities. The celebration will continue through Aug. 28.

The store renovation began in October 2011 and has been remodeled and redesigned. Boston Store’s  Southrige Mall is undergoing a $52 million renovation.

“We are very excited to announce the completion of this Boston Store renovation,” stated Brendan Hoffman, President & CEO for The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc in a release. “This has been an extensive project, but well worth the wait as we look forward to offering our customers a rejuvenated shopping experience with a fantastic assortment of merchandise.”

The new store provides a shopper-friendly environment with an open-floor plan, updated lighting with the newest energy-saving technology, spacious fitting rooms, wide aisles and customer seating areas. Two self-serve kiosks will be located in the store with complete web access to bostonestore.com for customers to browse or shop online with complimentary standard shipping.

The store will offer new brands in ladies’ sportswear such as Anne Klein, Jessica Simpson, Kensie and Romeo & Juliet and in men’s sportswear, with Tommy Bahama, Nautica, Polo and Kenneth Cole. The Shoe Salon is double in size, showcasing many new styles and brands, including Vince Camuto, Coach, Michael Kors, Steve Madden, and Fergalicious.

In addition to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, festivities will include live music and the first 1,000 customers that day will receive a complimentary gift.  All cosmetics brands, including the newly added Clarins brand, will offer complimentary make-overs and special gifts for the grand opening. Guests may enter to win prizes including a pair of Packers tickets, diamond earrings and a $1,000 shopping spree.

Following the show, Ushkowitz will meet and greet customers in the store.  Guests who make a $35 or more purchase of the Wallflower brand, will be able to meet Jenna and receive an autographed photo. Ten percent of sales from all Wallflower purchases made on August 25 will be donated to Stomp Out Bullying™ to support Boston Store’s Back to School campaign.  Twelve local girls ages 12 to 19 are invited to be a part of the fashion show to help Ushkowitz unveil her collection which is exclusively at Boston Store.  A casting will be held in the Juniors department on Wednesday, August 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. Casting applications are available on bostonstore.com, search Wallflower.
