Roots Salon opened its second location in downtown Greendale in November of 2010. The elegant spa offers a long list of products as well as head-to-toe beautification services on a daily basis.
The two owners, Naomi Prusinski and Shannon Lopez, have been friends since high school. After working sometime in the industry, the two opened their first salon in June of 2007 in Brookfield. It was not long after the success of the first location that the women hoped to expand.
"We started looking for a new piece of real estate almost 2 years ago," explained Lopez. "The space we are in now was actually on our wish list of potential salons. We had always kept it in the back of our minds and when it became available we put an offer in right away. It was previously a salon; so the changes we made were mostly cosmetic and it took us only 2 weeks to reopen."

The Greendale location differs from its sister salon in Brookfield because it offers massage, body waxing as well as facials.
"Both salons have the same brand and general feeling as well as the added features that set our establishment apart like a wireless hub fully equipped with net books for clients to peruse the internet while their color is processing," furthered Lopez.

In addition to everyday styling, Roots caters directly to the bridal industry by offering several wedding packages. On the day of the ceremony, with the booking of 5 or more special occasion styles, the styling for the bride is free. Roots also provides a complimentary breakfast of bagels and cream cheese as well as coffee and mimosas to bridal parties while they prepare for the big day. Several other wedding day packages for the rehearsal dinner, bachelorette parties, grooms package, the bridal trial and a travelling stylist for wedding ceremonies not in town are also available.
Roots Salon will host its official grand opening and open house on February 10, 2011. Special promotions in the week leading up the event will be announced on their website in the coming weeks.
On the night of the open house, the salon invites Greendale to experience all of the aspects of the salon without charge. Guests are encouraged to explore short styling education sessions, skin consultations, chair massages as well as food and beverages.
"We are excited to have joined the Greendale community and we can't wait to fully immerse ourselves in the many events and programs the village has to offer," concluded Lopez.
