Reality TV Casting Call: American Idol Producer Looking for Family-Run Businesses

American Idol Producer Nigel Lythgoe is looking for a family run business to feature in a new reality series, but not just any business. This new show will have a twist.

Wanna be on a TV reality show? Nigel Lythgoe, producer of the hit reality TV shows, "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol" is casting for a new reality show about a family run business.

It's no secret that family dynamics can be dramatic. But Lythgoe is taking the drama a step further by profiling a business run by a family that includes someone who's been diagnosed with a medical disorder.

According to casting producer Michael Warwick, the goal of the show is to show America how one person’s “disorder” is another man’s “success.”

The series will take viewers into the lives of a family that works together and supports each other running a family business. Producers say they're looking for men and women of all ages whose special abilities make them the star of their family business.

"This is a subject that has not been shown on a regular reality TV series. We plan on celebrating the individuals for their successes and accomplishments despite the medical disorder he or she lives with every day," said Warwick.
