The downtown businesses in Greendale will be bustling December 2 for the village's annual 'Dickens of a Christmas' event.
The holiday happenings will include horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, bell-ringers and brass bands. An outdoor 'Christmas Carol' skit will feature Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Marley and other characters.
Broad Street will be lit up with over 100,000 twinkling lights and all the shops and restaurants will be decked out for the season. Shopkeepers will be there, dressed in Dickens attire, to greet holiday shoppers.
Children will have a chance to write letters and share their wish lists with Santa. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras to snap photos with Santa and the Christmas Carol characters.
The event takes place from 4-9 p.m. It is sponsored by the Greendale Village Business Association.
