Christopher & Banks Store at Southridge Mall May Close

The struggling women's retailer aims to close 100 stores nationwide as part of a restructuring plan.

Women's clothing retailer Christopher & Banks will be closing approximately 100 stores nationwide by the end of January 2012, according to a new report from The Business Journal.

The store at Southridge Mall is one of 761 stores in 45 states operated by the company, which also includes 472 'Christopher & Banks' stores, 238 of its plus-size 'CJ Banks' stores, 28 dual-concept locations, and 23 outlet stores.

There are Christopher & Banks stores at Bayshore, Brookfield Square, Regency Mall and the Pleasant Prairie Outlet.

There was no immediate word about which of the stores would close.

According to the report, the company plans to lay-off workers from it's home office, restructure leases for the stores that stay open and combine others into the dual-concept format.
