Chick-fil-A might join new restaurants Longhorn Steakhouse and Panda Express on the 76th Street corridor.

Chick-fil-A has submitted plans to build a restaurant on one of the south outlots in front of the under-construction Walmart on 76th Street.

The Greendale Village Board will review the application on Tuesday and likely refer it to the Planning Commission.

Following , a number of new restaurants and businesses have announced plans to open in the 76th street corridor.

will be built alongside each other at the old Leath Furniture location. Designer Shoe Warehouse will in March of 2013.

Wisconsin's only other Chick-fil-A is in Racine. The company received national attention recently after the restaurant chain president expressed his opposition to gay marriage.

Most excellent!!!

Outstanding! Now I don't have to drive to Racine (or another state) to get my fix!

Glad to hear that there will be more food/shoes selection in the neighborhood!

I think this is great news! It will actually be a big draw for the entire mall area, since this will be the only free-standing location in the state.

I don't suppose there are any plans for a sushi/teppan restaurant. I miss Ichiban!

These are the types of restaurants and stores Greendale and Southridgge need, the ones that the majority of people frequent. Those type stay open. Panda Express and Longhorn will do well too. This brings people to Greendale, not statues or arches.

Chick-Fil-A: Where you can get a free bucket of bigotry with each helping of homophobia. Great, now all of the rednecks who fear gay people will come from miles around to buy over-priced, over-hyped chicken and celebrate their constitutional right to deny certain people certain rights just because of the way God made them. I won't be bringing my clan there, but I bet the local Klan members will visit quite often...

Jason. CALM DOWN. It's chicken on a bun, not a political statement. That statement was made as the CEOs opinion not the view of the entire organization. You are attacking someone for their opinion so why should someone treat you differently for opposing theirs? That type of speech will not gain you or your opinion any respect.
Bill Mack September 15, 2012 at 08:05 PM
Jason, your a complete idiot. Chick-Fil-A is not denying anyone anything. The owner stated an opinion regarding gay marriage, nothing more nothing less.
Jason Patzfahl September 16, 2012 at 02:24 PM
Bill: It's "You're" not "your" because "you're" is a contraction for "you are"... but thanks for playing with the adults for a while. I wonder how any of the employees who work for Chick-Fil-A and happen to be gay feel?
Jason Patzfahl September 16, 2012 at 02:26 PM
I don't respect anyone who hates certain groups of people, just because they are different. He should concentrate on selling chicken and keeping his bigotry out of the bucket...
Bill Mack September 16, 2012 at 03:00 PM
Jason, your or you're still an idiot, deal with the issue, all gay people don't feel they need to be married and as long as they get a paycheck they could care less. Did you include yourself as an adult or in some group of elite people?
Joe Todor September 17, 2012 at 12:24 AM
Yes, glad Chick-fil-A is back .. I don't agree with the CEO's opinion, but that's his opinion, and his constitutional right to express it... The chicken is good and they don't refuse to serve gays, etc ... I don't agree with what Michael Jackson has (allegedly) done, but I still listen to his music (not necessarily purchased) :)

It's sad that so many liberals (aka Jason) think that free speech only applies for the benefit of those on the left. Those who parade around the banner of tolerance are often the most intolerent of all.Chick Fil A will be very successful in Greendale.
Joseph September 17, 2012 at 01:21 PM
Yes, Jason, resort to name calling (Rednecks, klan members, etc) while you scream out about tolerance and hate... Why are YOU so filled with anti-Christian bigotry and hatred? Tolerance goes both ways.

Man, you are a complete and total idiot. You are a prime example of a bigot, but you are too stupid to know it.

Man, I would've been excited for this announcement had I just not read this tweet earlier today: @EatThisNotThat: SILLY SANDWICH: Chick-fil-A's Chicken Sandwich contains a silicone-based antifoaming agent also found in Silly Putty and shampoo! https://twitter.com/eatthisnotthat/status/248195026948083713

Why? where did this info come from? For what reason was it tweeted? Have you verified it before passing it on? Thanks I will check it out.
