Broad Street Coffee Company Under New Management

Co-owner Jim Birmingham, who is now managing the shop, says there is no intention to close the popular cafe.

Broad Street Coffee Company co-owner Jim Birmingham insists a short item in the shop’s May electronic newsletter is not a precursor to something more drastic happening down the road.

The newsletter says Birmingham, also a Village Trustee, is now managing the shop. Birmingham told Greendale Patch late last week that is all that is happening.

“We did do some reorganizational things,” Birmingham said. “My manager, who has been with me for a long time, that position has been eliminated. It was just some internal changes.

"We have no intention of closing. We plan on being around. We’re excited to be here this summer with all the changes coming to downtown and the birthday celebration.”

In 2006, Birmingham and Dave Houston purchased the coffee shop, established in 1997 as the Original Coffee Company, and renamed it Broad Street Coffee Company.
