Another Greendale Village Center Shop Announces It's Leaving

Wear America is relocating to St. Francis after being sold by owner Marty Pierce to the company that makes Cheeseheads.

For the second time this week, a Greendale Village Center shop owner has announced his company is leaving.

Days after the owners of The Shoppe Around the Corner told customers it was closing next month, Marty Pierce, owner of Wear America, 5628 Parking St., released a statement to announce he had sold his apparel store and screen printing business.

The store has been in Greendale since 1991. Pierce bought it in May 2012.

It will relocate to St. Francis.

Pierce sold his company to Ralph Bruno, owner of Foamation, the company that makes Cheeseheads.

The sale was announced Aug. 31, and will “allows Wear America to expand from screen printing into other industry leading initiatives, such as printing on the foam used to create the ever popular Cheesehead wedge," according to Pierce.

“While Wear America is no longer in Greendale, Wear America is absolutely still in business," Pierce said.

The decision to move from Parking Street was based on the current location of Foamation and the new owner's desire to have both businesses under one roof.

“The Greendale Village Center is an amazing place to own a business," Pierce said. "The residents, neighboring businesses, our customers…are all things about Greendale I will miss, but the move makes sense for the new owner and I wish him great success.”
