Tony Awarding Winning AIDA Coming to Greendale

The Greendale Community Theatre presents a modern rock adaptation of Verdi's opera by the same name, tells the story of timeless love through a dynamic score.

GREENDALE COMMUNITY THEATRE presents: AIDA -– the powerful and passionate Tony Award winning musical by Elton John and Tim Rice.  Greendale Community Theatre(GCT) presents its musical theatre performances inside of the beautifully renovated Reiman Family Arts Wing of Greendale High School, 6801 Southway, Greendale.

AIDA, a modern rock adaptation of Verdi's opera by the same name, tells the story of timeless love through a dynamic score.  Contemporary, edgy, romantic, tragic and inspirational are only a few of the words that describe this epic musical.  GCT invites all to a journey with to the distant lands of Egypt and Nubia for what promises to be an amazing theatrical journey. 

Artistic Director Brian Bzdawka and Musical Director Tom Reifenberg have once again assembled a stellar cast and crew to bring a production of AIDA like none you have seen before, according to a release from the GCT.

“GCT is always happy to bring in new talented faces and is happy to introduce the incredible voices of Erica Brown as Aida and Kat Geertsen as Amneris to Greendale audiences,” said GCT representative Mary Postotnik in the release.

Greendale Community Theatre plays an active part in helping further the community by selecting a charity to “pass the hat” for with each show. This summer the focus is with the Milwaukee Center for Independence – a leader in providing services for children and adults with special needs. Greendale Community Theatre is also actively taking part in their mission by making sure the gift of music is experienced by everyone – through a live concert event.
