Greendale Community Theatre presents Pulitzer Prize and Tony Winner musical Next To Normal. It also welcomes the Roger’s Memorial Hospital Foundation as the production’s local charity benefit.
Next to Normal is a musical not to be missed. With a thrilling contemporary score, Next To Normal is an intense emotional musical that aims right for the audience’s heart with its story of a mother struggling with bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family, coming to terms with its past and bravely facing its future. According to a release, The New York Times calls Next to Normal "a brave, breathtaking musical" and Rolling Stone claims it "pushes Broadway in new directions."
Artistic Director, Brian Bzdawka, and Musical Director, Tom Reifenberg, have once again assembled a stellar cast and crew to put together this moving production of Next To Normal. Excited to showcase new faces, GCT welcomes local veteran actor, Joe Nolan, to the GCT stage and family and is thrilled to welcome back the following GCT alum to round out their powerhouse cast: Laura McDonald as Diana, Kat Geertsen as Natalie, Patrick Jones as Gabe, Ryan Stajmiger as Henry and Michael Stoddard as Dr. Madden.
Supporting the Community
In an effort to redefine “community” theater in Milwaukee, it has become a GCT tradition to select a charity for “pass the hat” donations after each show. The selected charity for GCT’s winter production is the Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Next to Normal will take place inside Greendale High School’s newly renovated Reiman Family Arts Wing for two weekends in January. Performance dates are scheduled for January 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19, each show starting at 7:30 pm. Next To Normal contains mature themes and language.
Tickets are available online at www.greendaletheatre.org, at the door through GCT’s Box Office which opens at 6 p.m. on evenings of performances or by calling the Box Office at 414-423-2700, ext 4193. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
