Elvis Presley Sighting at the Historical Society Art Exhibit

The society will continue the same art exhibit from last week with some additions.

that includes portraits of Elvis Presley and Vince Lombardi, cross-stitch pieces, and photography highlighting life in early Greendale. However, this time a little bit more flavor will be added with an Elvis impersonator.

On Saturday Greendale Historical Society member will perform his Elvis impersonation at the society’s storefront location from 10 a.m. to noon.

In addition, four paintings by Carl Ruppert will be on display. Ruppert has previously sold his Elvis paintings at Graceland in Memphis, TN. Ruppert has also donated several of his paintings to the Greendale Historical Society for a raffle to be held this summer.

Want to take a picture with Bruno/Elvis or Ruppert? Stop by on Saturday. They will available for photo ops and answering any questions about their artistic impressions of Elvis Presley.

The exhibit will be open on  Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5676 Broad Street in downtown Greendale. Admission is free.

Other art work from on display are Steve Peters, Ken Judy, Donna Kewan and Gail Bremer. The exhibit also features selected photos from the society’s archives and original maps from the early construction days of Greendale, some which were donated by recently. 

This is an opportunity to learn more about the history of Greendale, one of three Greenbelt communities built during the Great Depression.
