Village Offer Free Flu Vaccine to Children

The Village of Greendale will also host a series of flu clinic throughout October.

Two clinics will be held at the Greendale Safety Center, 5911 W. Grange Ave., according to the village’s website. They will be held in the courtroom Monday, Oct. 7, 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 4-7 p.m.

These clinics are for individuals 5 years of age and older. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

No appointments are necessary.

The cost is $30. If you wish to submit your flu vaccine to insurance you must bring a copy of both sides of your insurance card or your Medicare card. Insurance is billed at the usual and customary rates.

In addition, there is another clinic in the Greendale High School multi-purpose room from 3:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, for those ages 6 months to 64 years old.

The clinic is free for children under the age of 19, or $32 for adults. Cash or check only.

Both flu shots and nasal spray vaccines will be available, and no appointments are necessary.

Flu is unpredictable and can vary widely in severity from one season to the next. Young children, pregnant women, and people with certain underlying medical conditions are at high risk for developing flu related complications and very serious illness. People can pass flu to others before they start feeling sick and for a week or more after becoming ill.
