The Way Church Opens Sunday With Launch Service at Martin Luther

The Way Church, an upstart nondenominational church started by a young Muskego couple, is just days from its grand opening.

And it plans to celebrate in style. Make that, Chicago style.

Dr. Dawg, a Chicago-style hot dog and Italian beef restaurant in Greenfield that opened last spring at the intersection of 76th Street and West Layton Avenue, will provide Chicago-style hot dogs for $2 to anyone who comes over from The Way’s initial service for lunch this Sunday.

The Way’s first-ever service is at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6, in the auditorium of Martin Luther High School, 5201 S. 76th St., in Greendale. The opening launch service is expected to last approximately 65 minutes.

There will be free coffee and snacks and children’s activities for those in fifth grade and younger.

“We’re excited and looking forward to it,” said pastor Josh Waldoch, who along with is wife Emily, founded the new church. “We’ll have an upbeat, contemporary worship and I’ll be sharing a practical message that will be relevant to everyday life, something everyone can apply, not something that’s just theological.”

Waldoch said all are welcomed to Sunday’s service regardless of religious backgrounds.
