PHOTOS: Another Year of Success for the AVA Walk

Swarms of people showed their support at the second annual AVA Walk Sunday afternoon that included speeches, interactive activities, a concert and a dance to 'Stop in the Name of Love.'

The harsh, cool wind did not dampen spirits ofΒ hundreds of supporters who came out for the second annual Walk for Ava along Broad Street Sunday afternoon.Β  TheΒ event is named after 5-year-old Ava Zimmerman who was struck and killed by a driver while crossing the street with her family.

Members of Ava's family, along with Greenfield Fire Chief Jon Cohn,Β spoke to raise awareness toΒ educate and remind drivers that they need to stop at pedestrian crosswalks.Β  Firefighters who responded to Ava's accidentΒ were also present.

After the walk, participants egnjoyed music by Grace Weber, while children ate cotton candy, drew pictures and some had fun designs painted on their face.
