Greendale Community Church Sets Their Prayers Into The Wind

The church has flags hanging outside with prayers for the world.

Children of the Greendale Community Church drew pictures and wrote prayers on fabrics that are now hung up as flags in front of the church.

The adult members also wrote on a piece of fabric, in one word, what their prayer would be for the world.

By hanging up the fabrics outside the prayers are meant to be caught in the wind and set into motion, said Nancy Krase, Religious Education Coordinator.

"We hope that as people walk by the church, they take a moment to pause and look up and see the toughtful prayers of our children," Krase said. "It's quite evident that we all want the same things - peace, love, understanding, tolerance, joy, forgiveness. It's our hope that as you look at these flags, you come to realize that it's up to each and everyone one of us to create more peace, love, understanding, joy, tolerance, compassion."
