Get Out: Elegant Concert, De-clutter Your Life, Photography Classes

Greendale Patch looks ahead at this weekend, and finds five great things for you to do.

The countdown to the weekend, which usually begins Monday, continues today, and it's time to make your plans.

This week, "Get Out" looked at some of the businesses we "like" on Facebook and found great events they are hosting this weekend.

Where/When: Greendale Public Library, lower level, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: Kathi Miller, clutter coach and author of Clutter Coach Success Secrets, a monthly newsletter, will present some of her best tips at this Greendale Public Library event.  Miller will address the positive changes in lifestyle that can result from de-cluttering, as well as the new perspective to be gained on one's belongings.

Where/When: MPR, Doors open at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go: Enjoy an elegant sit-down dinner while listening and dancing to the music of the Greendale High School orchestra. This fundraising event features a raffle and silent auction, as well as good food and socializing. Proceeds will go to GHS orchestra performances and travel.

3. Spa Day at the Wisconsin Athletic Club

Where/When: Wisconsin Athletic Club, 8700 W. Watertown Plank Rd., Wauwatosa/Thursday, call 414-443-5000 for times

Why Go: Join the staff of the Wisconsin Athletic Club for tips on how to keep your skin hydrated and refreshed after the winter months. Complimentary spa treatments like chair massages, mini-manicures, eyebrow waxing and more. Open to members and non-members.

4. Photography Classes

Where/When: Art's Cameras Plus/Saturday, two different times (see below)

Why Go: So, you've got a new digital camera? Learn how to use it. The Digital Quickstart class runs from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and will cover the basics of what your camera can offer and what you can do with it. All About the Exposure, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. takes an in depth look at shutter control, light metering skills and so much more.

5. Scrapbooking All Night Long

Where/When: /Friday, 4 p.m. to midnight

Why Go: Put your creativity to the test and share ideas with other scrapbook junkies like yourself. The event is for the beginning to advanced, dinner and a beverage is provided and you will receive a 10 percent off coupon for the store. Bring your own snacks, additional beverages, projects, pictures and supplies.
