Activities To Do On Christmas Day

A few activities to do in case you're bored.

It's Christmas Day and you have gone to mass with the family and now you're at home wondering what will you do with the rest of your day when everything is closed.

Here are some activities that you can do with your family or by yourself.

  • Having the smell of baking around your home is always a good thing. If you were able to get a copy of "Best of Country Cookies Cookbook" from the Taste of Home Outlet Store you are on the right track. This book has over 250 cookie recipes. If you weren't able to get the book then internet searching for recipes will do.
  • The Greendale Ice Rink that was constructed by volunteers opened last week. If you can get ahold of your own skates this can be a joyous activity to do with your family. Not only will you be having fun, but you'll also be burning off the calories from the holiday treats. The supporters and volunteers of the rink remind everyone that it is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. "It's the best kind of innocent fun a family can have together during the holiday season," explained Jeff Ferchoff one of the volunteers behind the ice rink construction.
  • Food for the brain, read a book. The Greendale Public Library encourages readers to use the OverDrive Downloadable Media service. This free service allows one to select and download audiobooks, ebooks, videos or music to play directly on a computer or on supported portable devices. Cuddle up under the blanket with hot chocolate and read.
  • Time to take out the board games. Board games can create bonding time between family members. One is never too old to play. If you want to get creative, create your own games.
  • Last resort, rent a movie from redbox for a dollar, a cheap and fun activity.
