500 Garbage Carts to be Available for Residents

With a new garbage truck capable of lifting garbage carts in the fold, Village of Greendale officials are giving residents the options to change the way they have their garbage picked up.

Officials agreed to purchase 500 carts - some 65-gallon and some 95-gallon - which will then be sold to residents who want them for their homes.

The carts are completely optional, but work well with the village's new garbage truck, which will still be used to collect garbage from residents without the carts.

"This is strictly something that our truck is equipped for, a tipper-type container like this, and we just thought we'd give it to the residents as an option," Director of Public Works Rob McFaul said in a Greendale NOW story. "We'll still pick it, no matter what."
