Even though the FBI is hot on Walker's tail and has arrested just about every single member of his inner circle from his County Executive days . . . and even though we are losing jobs left and right in the state and have no shot in hell at reaching Walker's goal of 250,000 jobs in four years, my neighbors still have their damn "Stand With Walker" yard signs up.
These people who still hold Walker in such high regards musts be the masochists in the relationship, while Walker, who insists upon pitting parents against teachers, congregants against church leaders and neighbors against neighbors, is surely the sadist - the one who enjoys inflicting the pain upon others. (Tonette, I had no idea you guys were so kinky! Where do you and Scotty hide the whips and chains from your boys? In the closet - the long, dark, ugly closet with all of those skeletons that are just starting to be found is my best guess).
But it is not just rampant Walker supporters caught up in this destructive relationship - it is all of us. Innocent bystanders like students, poor people and the elderly (often poor themselves) are victims of this S&M style of governing that the GOP and the Tea Party have forced upon the state because the far right loves inflicting pain by denying certain people basic rights like health care and affordable education - and the right to vote.
Even head sadist, Scotty Walker himself has been victimized by his own aggressive and vindictive agenda. The latest poll from the Public Policy Survey shows that Scotty would likely lose a recall election to numerous Democratic candidates:
- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett leads Walker 49 percent to 46 percent (not even running yet)
- Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk wins against Walker 48 percent to 47 percent;
- U.S. Rep. Ron Kind of La Crosse comes out ahead of Walker 46 percent to 45 percent;
- And Russ Feingold, who is not even running, beats Walker by 7 points.
It should also be noted that only Falk is actively campaigning for Governor - just wait until the Dems start to advertise and push full force.
But Scotty seems to indulge in the weakened and cracked state of the state. He seems to enjoy having half of the state HATE the other half of the state. He seems to thoroughly enjoying forcing all of us into a destructive and painful sadomasochist-style relationship.
So, a few questions to my S&M-loving neighbors?
Will you still "Stand With Walker" when he is sitting in County Jail and facing felony charges? Will you still vote for Walker during the recall election even if he cannot himself cast a ballot because he is a felon? Will you still stubbornly keep your yard sign up or will you swallow your pride, regain your sense of right and wrong and throw that blue eyesore in the dumpster next to the Walker "Brown Bag" that is oozing old stinky dog shit?
And if you think Scotty is innocent or a victim of the "left-wing propaganda machine" whatever the hell that is - think again.
Either Scotty knew nothing of the secret emailing campaign, or the ghost-internet routing system that was in place in his office, or the work being done on county time for his gubernatorial campaign - all in his office and all around him for months while he was the County Executive (making him a complete moron), or he knew what was going on and did nothing about it (which makes him a felon).
The reality is that he is probably both a moron and a criminal and it is time we end this destructive sadomasochist relationship.
See you in June for a recall!

No, this is NOT funny - "Alone among the 50 states, it (Wisconsin) has lost private-sector jobs for six straight months. The United States as a whole has added private-sector jobs 23 months in a row, including almost a half million jobs in the past two months.
But Wisconsin has been moving in the opposite direction, a trend that not only threatens Gov. Scott Walker's campaign promise but could cloud any message of economic renewal as the state heads into an all-but-certain recall election this summer. Wisconsin has lost more private-sector jobs (an estimated 27,700) than any state in the country since the middle of last year (July through December), according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Only one other state, Missouri, is close, losing about 19,000 jobs in that stretch." ~ http://www.jsonline.com/business/us-adding-jobs-while-state-loses-ll4c8qp-141333083.html

Don’t get me wrong - I have a sense of humor. Heck, I even chuckled at your intentionally horrible singing performance within your video. First of all, I find it surprising that Patch would allow you to post a video using such language.
Second of all, in view of the fact that “*ss-clown” may be defined (by the Urban Dictionary) as “a person who, while making a serious attempt at something, fails to realize what a complete fool he has made of himself,” and in further view of the fact that you insult the Governor’s wife and children with your poor attempt at humor while failing to realize your own foolishness, I ask you: who here is truly deserving of this definition?

This post will surely boost Mr. Patzfahl's employment prospects in the future. I'm sure any employer would want a well grounded, thoughtful, stable individual such as Mr. Patzfahl working for them.
The internet may give everyone a voice but comes with the risk that now you've exposed yourself to future employers and colleagues. There's really no way in today's internet to undo a post of this nature. Employers now search facebook, blog posts as well as internet forums to get an insight into the mindset of a potential employee. It's just one more tool we use to determine if you are a good fit. One of the last things we want are people that are prone to voicing extreme opinions, political, religious or otherwise in a work setting. A post like this simply shows an extreme lack of good judgment.
Bren

Or it might get him a job, depending on what type of field he is interested in. Employers are also interested in conceptualization and analytical skills, persuasive writing skills, etc., at least in my sphere. Many colleagues in the field are involved in political and other philanthropic initiatives--it brings numerous vantage points to the table and ensures insight into what's "going on in town," so to speak.
And it's interesting that you suggest that Jason would be "prone to voicing extreme opinions, etc.," in a work setting. You have nothing to base this on!

1) Resume
2) Interview
3) References
4) Background check
5) Credit Rating(yes, if you have a crappy credit rating it's the sign of an irresponsible individual)
6) Search the internet.
For every one place this blog post might help there are a 1000 others that would steer clear of him. It's hard enough finding a job these days, why hamper your chances with a useless blog post? If nothing else it shows to me an extreme lack of judgment and understanding the concept of risk/reward. There is a permanent record on the internet of your actions until the end of time. This post will never go away. I hate to see a person do this to themselves.

What is the difference between Jason's comments and Limbaugh's comments? You have posted comments objecting to the remarks made by Limbaugh towards the law student. You have also excused Jason's insults towards Walker's family as "deliberately provocative."
Are Limbaugh's comments not "deliberately provocative?" His whole show is deliberately provocative, which is why I refuse to listen to him and the other partisan hacks (Beck, Schultz et al) that rely on such provocation to garner ratings.
So, per your logic:
Jason insulting the Governor's family is permissible as deliberately provocative.
Limbaugh insulting the law student is not, despite being deliberately provocative?
What's up with that?

I would just point out that 235301's initial post could be construed as an attempt to bully Jason. 235301 (which I suspect is not his/her real name) presents her/himself as a "job creator" and we'll take her/him at her word (the luxury of anonymity possibly precludes the need for the tact most employers of my acquaintance typically exhibit).
I point out in turn that 1) There is absolutely no evidence, in any posting, to suggest that Jason would bring unsolicited political views to work; and 2) Depending upon the type of employer/industry, his political interests are indicative of a lively, informed mind, which could be appreciated by members of the creative class. Certainly he would be an excellent candidate for a political organization.

Patchreader, please revisit Jason's post. There are numerous qualifiers throughout his narrative ("seems to," "probably" etc). I see one isolated instance, where taken out of context, could be misconstrued as a name call. In context, it is a qualified statement.
The difference between Limbaugh and Jason is that Limbaugh is a highly paid entertainer. People who perceive him to be an information source do themselves no service, in my opinion.
Limbaugh periodically ramps up his shock-jock narrative to boost ratings, and this latest is just one more marketing ploy. I do believe he miscalculated on this one, but am cynical enough to believe that advertisers and radio stations may eventually be enticed back into the fold, if the returns are good enough.
The true question is, who hires Rush Limbaugh? What are the priorities, ratings/USD or being the social conscience of America?
Jason has posted an article, for which I do not believe he was paid. The contrast of two men is this: one writes from his heart and the other is a paid entertainer.

Here we go again with our double standards. Where was the outcry when liberals were name-calling conservative and liberal women.
Unacceptable: Rush Limbaugh referring to the Georgetown student as a "whore" because she claimed to have purchased so many condoms.
Acceptable: Any slurring of conservative women by liberal commentators.
"Liberal comedian Bill Maher has used obscene words before to smear Sarah Palin. "Joy Behar, a liberal co-host of ABC's "The View," trashed GOP senate candidate Christine O'Donnell as a "witch who doesn't masturbate" and called another GOP candidate Sharron Angle a "b****" who will "go to hell."
"MSNBC's Keith Olbermann used this lovely phrase to describe conservative writer Michelle Malkin: a "mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it.""
"Last week Bristol Palin was the victim of verbal abuse by a 47-year-old heckler who called her “white trash” and her mother Sarah Palin a “whore.” During a trip to the Saddle Ranch Chop House on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, the 20-year-old rode a jerky mechanical bull for several minutes before falling to the floor. Before Bristol got to her feet, Stephen Hanks, as identified by TMZ, yelled, “Did you ride Levi [Johnston] like that? Your mother’s a whore.”"
And more..........
Bren
2:39 pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2012
Patchreader, What has income to do with values? The two are not mutually exclusive. However, if one is being paid to be provocative that has little to do with "values" (a la Limbaugh) and all to do with employment income.
I perceive Rush Limbaugh to be a persona. I have never met the man, I cannot speak to how much of his personality is immersed in his character. That's why, no matter how personally repulsive I find many of his remarks, I don't comment because 1) I don't know the extent to which these are his views or scripted; 2) It's a free country and there's obviously a market share for his brand of entertainment; and 3) I don't have to listen to him. I was surprised to learn that he broadcasts on the Armed Forces Network.
And personally, insulting the families of public figures isn't my cup of tea but scrutiny and the occasional insult does come with the territory of being in the public eye. I seem to recall Hilary and Chelsea Clinton were not treated very well in the press, for example. Fortunately, civility has improved since for the families of George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
You know that I always try to promote civil discourse and the spirit of cooperation. Who knows, if we figure it out here, perhaps we could offer an online seminar for our government representatives!

Jason, an interesting article!
I have to say that I approve of the loyalty that Scott Walker and ALEC/Koch have inspired, misplaced as I believe it to be. Speaking only for myself, I feel that same sense of loyalty toward Wisconsin, my home state, and its rich cultural history.
Today's MJS places Walker's approval rating at 47% based on several recent polls, and states that the numbers have barely moved although his campaign (including AFP) have spent more on advertising.
Everyone who can vote has to decide, Wisconsin or Scott Walker/ALEC. The two are not living in harmony and never will, I believe.

Hey Bren, does your pea sized brain grasp the concept that the "evil" Koch brothers own billions of property in Wisconsin(meaning they pay more property tax than you will in your lifetime) and they employ 4000 people(meaning the put food on the table of 4000 families), don't you think since they have that much invested in Wisconsin they should be able to voice who they want as leadership?
Good God you liberals are simpletons.
Bren
11:48 am on Tuesday, March 6, 2012
Alfred, why did you put the word "evil" in quotation marks? I do not believe the Koch brothers have been imbued with mystical attributes. And more name calling, insulting peas. Why do some people try to make a political discourse personal? As a child I was taught that the loss of sang froid proves a weak argument. That insight has served me well in my life.
Now, I am well aware of the Koch brothers' financial presence in this state and others. They have lobbyists in Madison to represent their interests, they moved in right after Scott Walker was elected. Yes, they employ and lay off workers in Wisconsin. Does that give them more right than in-state companies to manipulate Wisconsin's laws and citizens to promote their multi-state cookie-cutter ALEC agenda here? No. Other states with ALEC governors, such as Ohio, are also resisting the agenda. Their state laws allowed them to bypass their governor and repeal his anti-union bill. We don't have that option here so we have to address the source of the problem through recall. The governor of Minnesota has stated that he will not sign ALEC bills.
There's a big picture to consider, Alfred.

You are no doubt aware of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s support of Barrett’s gubernatorial aspirations.
http://wispolitics.com/index.Iml?Article=261460
However, are you aware of the fact that Mayor Emanuel has opposed the wishes of Chicago Teacher’s Union by closing 17 Chicago public schools?
http://www.suntimes.com/10832492-417/rahm-emanuel-protests-over-school-closings-noise-associated-with-change.html
Are you also aware of the fact that Mayor Emanuel’s Deputy Mayor is considered by many to be “anti-union?”
http://www.chicagonewscoop.org/deputy-mayor-to-labor-leaders-a-new-sheriff-in-town/
Or that Emanuel has acted against union wishes by firing 625 public employees and seeking to privatize other public services?

Perhaps the foregoing facts explain why the Wisconsin unions have asked Barrett to not run for governor?
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/136146378.html
Perhaps the foregoing facts also explain Barrett’s point lead over the other Dem gubernatorial candidates (ambivalence: Barrett v. Walker not unlike Romney vs. Obama)? Are you certain that you want to continue parading Tom Barrett as an example of the non-acceptance by voters of Walker’s policies regarding collective bargaining?
So, carry on hurling insults at the Governor’s family and spending your time creating parody videos. The supporters of Governor Walker may end up thanking you for your efforts.

Some are comparing me to Rush - the differences are: 200 lbs, 25 years, millions of followers, millions of dollars, influence, millions of brain cells (I win that one), and the fact that the person I chose to center my sarcasm on is a public figure - not an unknown student. And my "attack" lasted 5 minutes (video and blog read aloud) while Limbaugh's sexist attack lasted for three days.
Also, I am not issuing a back-handed apology - or an apology at all.

WAIT I GET IT - Jason, being a limp wrist low IQ liberal, really wants that sex changed. But, being a parasitic liberal with no ability, has a crappy job and can't pay for it....
SO, he wants US all to pay for his sex change... ahhh I get it now.

Jason, mere snark. How unfortunate.
The law student testified at a public hearing and thus opened herself up to public criticism. Nonetheless, she was not deserving of insult.
Nor are the spouse and children of one who holds political office.
One day, some other senseless fool may direct insults at your wife and children, based solely upon your own actions. Did this ever occur to you? And when your children attempt to understand why they are the recipients of such uncalled for ridicule, then maybe, just maybe, you'll understand the error of your ways.
At this point, perhaps you WILL indeed apologize - to your children for not setting a proper example in previously not directing your insults at the same recipients as them, namely family. And if you do not have enough sense to set a proper example for the benefit of your children, then you are simply beyond reason.

@JRH--I was just illuminating the point that Jason's drivel is no different than Noelle's drivel, just from a different paradigm. Spades is spades my man.
The second part your reply is confusing. Jason has been crushed by commenters, and he has never once stooped to the level of personal attacks that Noelle has leveled at anyone who disagrees. You can just say that you have a crush on her, and drop the class, integrity and character bit. She's a hack, just like Jason.

I beg to differ. I don't recall Noelle ever bringing family into the mix the way Jason has done here. Not to mention that Noelle never desecrated a classic from a true American rock legend the way Jason has done to Tom Petty in this blog!
Also, Noelle only ever got personal when it became personal against her, and she actually pointed that out if I recall correctly. Here, a majority of the attacks are aimed at Jason's ideology and actions, and not at him personally - there's a big difference with this spade my friend!
I'm just surprised that you singled out Noelle when there are other conservative bloggers here on Patch that have been far more active recently than Noelle has.
As to my previous statement about Ms. Lorraine - I stand by those assertions to my dying breath as well as into the afterlife!

All of the personal character attacks are fine - but NOBODY has been able to use any facts to suggest that Walker is not guilty of being a crook or a liar or a future felon, or that Wisconsin is gaining jobs . . . and if you disagree with my opinion so much, then go ahead and login as a blogger and express yourself. It's really easy, free, and doesn't take much time, especially if you don't use facts or do any research like most of the conservative bloggers refuse to do.
And FYI, my employers know my political leanings very well, and they could care less - because my customers have no clue of my political affiliations/beliefs. In fact, my employers and I will often talk politics while working together, we usually don't agree, but we have a lot of laughs about our differences because they can take sarcasm and humor and offer it right back in my face (which makes the day go by much quicker). Personally, I'd rather have a lively discussion with someone I disagree with than someone whose opinions are carbon copies of my own.

If you think you were introducing humor, to our horror you have introduced something vile and disgusting.

And it escalated with Clinton.

@mau...If you're a "boomer" you'll get blamed for everything negative that has happened to the ones that have followed us. We're all stereotyped as hippies and flower children, whether we were or not. Also, we had to step up and "carry the water" for all the generations proceeding us. We got sandwiched between our aging parents and adult children. Many of us have had to also raise our grand children.
Now our futures are going to be determined by people who detest us because our parents created the largest population cohort in this nation's history. Most of us were responsible and limited the number of children we had. Thus, there isn't enough of a following cohort to carry our water.
Just think, it's going to be people who criticize and hate us who will be sitting on our death panels. Probably time to take care of our final arraignments. Think "Logan's Run" or "Soylent Green".

Lyle,
Remember, there's strength in numbers. Imagine everything everyone finds annoying about the elderly - now multiply that by about 50 times. The entire nation will be in a constant state of "hurry up and wait" as we clog up grocery store aisles, sidewalks and traffic with our walkers, Rascals and late model champagne colored Buicks. Not to mention the back to back funeral processions as we collectively start to drop like flies.
Vengeance is ours - always.

@Lyle, we may be on opposite sides of the fence politically, but I agree with you 100% here and on other issues. We may have made a lot of mistakes but we also did a lot of good. I will say there are a lot of good citizens in our children's generation too. They are the ones who aren't vocal because they are too busy working and succeeding. But one problem with their generation is they got too much too fast and now expect it and were treated as our equal rather than as our children. And now it is backfiring on us.
I have no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. I have two canes and a toilet riser so I am good to go. And spending so much time at my mother-in-law's new apartment, I am getting a first hand edumacation on how to be a pain in the arse senior.
Glad you mentioned those movies. I need to check Netflix if they are available so I can watch them again. The next generation will have that and Brave New World. I think we will still make it to the drive-up funeral and ashes down the drain stage.

And last but not least, I have every right to drag Walker's wife and kids into this since he has dragged my kids, (and all of our children) who either attend public school, drink water or live near neighbors with itchy trigger fingers, right into this big stinky cesspool of a mess we now call Wisconsin.
And the sexuality and reproductive cycles and choice of contraception has been dragged into this GOP-created mess. The only time a Republican cares about someone else is when it is a woman and they are trying to seize control of her uterus.
