Woman Charged After Incident Outside Canterbury

Maria Reyes, 28, was charged with disorderly conduct after police say she threatened a teacher's aide in the school parking lot.

A 28-year-old Milwaukee woman has been charged following a March 7 incident outside Canterbury Elementary School.

Police say a teacher's aide was trying to leave the school parking lot but was parked in by Maria Reyes, who after the aide asked her to move her car, threatened to get a gun and "blow her (expletive) head off," according to a criminal complaint.

Reyes, meanwhile, countered that she told the aide to stop pounding on her window or else she would use her gun in self-defense, according to the complaint.

Reyes was charged Monday with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. The charge carries a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine or 90 days in jail.

No security camera in place at Canterbury to monitor the parking lot?

Putting cameras in means taking a stand Mike B. This school board doesn't want to take a stand except that they extended Tharp's contract which is going to cost some of them their seats.

That things are changing in Greendale. We have a school board that arrogantly thinks things are just fine now.

Dr. Slota claims he never hears a complaint. That's from a former candidate who ran against Jeff Stone who has been on the school board for over 20 years! A known Democrat who is shaking in his white over coat that he is about to get voted out of office.

That's right - It's Dr. Slota's fault that some crazy lady threatened a TA with a gun! How ridiculous! Dr. Slota, the other members of the school board and Dr. Tharp are not responsible for this incident, but Dr. Slota and the school board is partially responsible for the continued success of our public schools here in Greendale. It is what brought my family here in the first place and it is what has kept me here (probably much to your dismay).

I am happy the direction we are headed with our schools (onward and upward) and I thank our school board, our dedicated and well-respected teachers and our current Superintendent - and most of the parents, who are dedicated to children's education as well. It is a team effort, "Sam Brady" - Which team are you playing for???

If the board would have voted to add security cameras in our grade school parking lots you would be calling for their heads because they were invading our privacy and spying on us - We have a new Super, who was probably not your first choice, but get over it and stop whining!

Really, one incident and you're up in arms over the fact that the elementary schools have no cameras?
My children have done just fine in this district with the school board that's seated. Change seems to be difficult for this community. You want a different board in place, but hate the fact that Dr. Hughes is no longer in charge. Get over it. Dr. Tharpe hasn't even been in his position for a full year, but everyone seems to want to unseat him immediately without giving him a chance.

A chance? Shall we count the ways?

I'm rather curious to know what actually occurred between these two, although it really isn't my business.

Jason Patzful supports Dr. Slota. Almost 30 years on the Board of Education. Ran against Jeff Stone as a Democract. Regular Democratic contributer to candidates.
Lefty who has never heard a complaint about the Greendale Public Schools.

Questions? Email him. He proudly claims he does not use email. 2013. Doesn't use email. Seen his facebook page? Web Site? Board Bio?

The fork is already in him. He is done.

A garbage parent exposed herself. Make an example of her and lets move on.
