What's Your Favorite Mall? Brookfield, Mayfair, Southridge or Bayshore?

Taking into consideration proximity, type of stores and recreation, Patch wants to know which mall you like best.

Southeastern Wisconsin has it fair share of quality shopping malls, all within a 15 to 35 minute drive.

The reigning malls for shoppers are Brookfield Square Mall, Mayfair Mall, Southridge Mall and Bayshore Mall.

Whether it's proximity, number of stores, types of stores or recreation, everyone has a go-to favorite mall. What's yours?

Southridge Mall

Southridge recently underwent a huge renovation that has brought a number of new stores and encouraged other stores to renovate as well. Southridge is one of the main retail shopping destinations in the south side of Milwaukee County. It's one of the few malls that has five anchors: Boston Store, Macy's, Kohls, Sears and JCPenney.

Mayfair Mall

Mayfair has over 180 stores and with good variety. It has stores for people of all ages and income brackets. Not only does this mall have a rather large Boston Store and Macy's but the first Nordstrom in Wisconsin will be opening in Mayfair in 2015. One cannot forget the AMC movie theatre within the mall.

Brookfield Square Mall

This one-story upscale mall attracts residents from Waukesha County and Milwaukee County. Brookfield Square underwent a massive renovation in 2004 that brought a number of stores and restaurants into the area. It's the only mall to have a Northface Store in the area. It also has the largest Boston Store with the largest inventory.

Bayshore Town Center Mall

Bayshore Mall is a great shopping destination for those warm months when you want to be outdoors. It's considered to be a great dating place due to its restaurants and the iPic. In the last few years Bayshore has been remodeled and has brought in a number of upscale stores to the joy of many North Shore residents.

Patch asked people on Facebook what was their favorite mall. Here's what they had to say:

Tammy Sheahan Bayshore because you get fresh air while shopping. So pretty at the holidays!

Sinead Raleigh Brookfield Square of course where you don't pay a county tax like the other 2.

Jill Block I like Brookfield square it's one level and it's close to home. They also have Balistics coffee which I love.

Katie Medrow Prefer the stores at Mayfair but it is becoming overrun with high schoolers so Brookfield is my place to go if I need to.

Karen Hudachek McNeely Mayfair has the best stores... and it will just get better when Nordstroms comes.

Jennifer Downey York Mayfair, followed by Bayshore. HATE Southridge. That mall will not survive even with all of the udpates.

Adine Orlowski Mikolajczak The new outdoor Bayshore is too expensive and the shops are too boring. Brookfield is more kid friendly and indoors.

Theresa Malloy I really like Southridge since Macy's opened. They are getting more higher end stores and getting rid of the trashier ones.

None of the above!!! They all are GUN FREE ZONES!!! I choose not to frequent those places who feel it necessary to make it okay for the criminal to carry a weapon but not okay for a law abiding citizen. A responsible gun owner who chooses to defend himself and his family if need be.
I do all my shopping on line or those places who do not view me as a criminal!!!

That sounds absolutely ridiculous. You should move to the Middle east...

Patriot, you are a true American, not taking any static from all those bad people at Bayshore and Brookfield Square. As for me I still go there, I just wear a kevlar vest so all the shots just bounce right off me. Sometimes the bad guys get killed by their own ricochets! Also if you run fast in a zig-zag pattern it's harder for them to hit you. You've just gotta be hoping that they're not packing fully automatic with teflon coated rounds! If I go shopping again I sure hope you are there to save us from all that...

I don't like to be at a place. And also be around a lot of people. Now days you just don't know.

You are EXACTLY right michelle! I saw a video of a female reporter being groped by a whole mob of people in Cairo, Egypt once. If it can happen in Cairo it's only a matter of time before it catches on at Brookfield Square.

My sister lives near there. The flight from Bangkok takes about 1.3 hours.

Malls are a necessary evil, I don't like any of them.

Mayfair stinks the least if you can avoid romper room with the high school kids

Malls are gun-free and thug heavy areas. I will go to none of them. Unless my wife tells me to. Then I go where she tells me.

If Mayfair would bring back the skating rink I would go back. Bayshore has gotten very pricey. Southridge has a Disney store which I wish we had at Bayshore and there food court and train are fun for the little ones. Brookfield is okay but they took away that lovely restaurant above marshal fields. I guess I love and hate each

Haven't been to Southridge in ages. Go to Mayfair or Brookfield for lunch now and then. Don't know that I prefer one or the other but I hear about more dumbass teens causing trouble at Mayfair so I'll vote for Brookfield Square.

Sure are a lot of people whining about wanting to bring a gun to the mall. Maybe you go to the wrong malls but I've never needed a gun at the mall. Sure, there's a 1 in 10,000,000 chance you might need one but I'll take my chances.
