Gov. Scott Walker Subpoenaed in Former Staffer's Trial

Former Walker staffer Kelly Rindfleisch is accused of using county time to complete campaign work for a Republican who lost the lieutenant governor race in 2010.

Gov. Scott Walker has been subpoenaed to testify in the trial of his former aide, Kelly Rindfleisch.

WKOW-TV in Madison reports that a subpoena has been served on Walker’s attorney, Michael Steinle and was filed with Milwaukee County Judge David Hanscher. The document was submitted to the courts Friday.

Rindfleisch is accused of using county time to complete campaign work for a Republican who lost the lieutenant governor race in 2010, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Rindfleisch has pleaded not guilty to four felony counts of misconduct in office.

Authorities say Rindfleisch committed misconduct while working her government job as deputy chief of staff for Walker, who was then Milwaukee County executive, WKOW-TV reports.

Rindfleisch is one of five individuals going to trial in fall associated with the ongoing John Doe investigation. The investigation has resulted in 15 felony indictments so far. The first trial is expected to begin Monday.

Barring a last-second plea deal, a jury will be picked to hear the case of 62-year-old Kevin Kavanaugh, who is charged with embezzlement and four counts of theft by fraud, according to WTAQ.com.

And a subpoena isn't quite "nothing." It means that the individual has/is believed to have information pertinent to the case. I'm surprised you didn't know this.

Sometimes I'm momentarily literal it's true. In this instance due to the encounter of a senseless (apparently) revised saying. Why, other than a serrated grapefruit spoon, would one create a sharp spoon as an eating utensil? Unless there is some profound hidden depth of meaning, involving the pain of accepting new knowledge, etc., the statement makes no sense. Therefore stating it exemplifies ignorance. That's why I questioned it. Stop picking on me--make like a tree and go away!

WE

From the information that I have found, investigators on the case opened the investigation themselves after two years of stonewalling by Walker and his administration.

There is really nothing to see here, only 17 of SW's closest staff have been formally charged.

Secret routers within feet of his office? 17 of his closest staff charged? If he knew he's a scum, if he didn't he's inept. Plain and simple.

Milwaukee County is still paying for his actions. Remember when he replaced all of the guards at the courthouse and a year later had to re-hire them and pay them back pay with interest? Remember just recently when it was found that his "emergency" furlough days were found to be illegal and those affected had to be given back pay with interest?

I have a friend who worked for the County at the time of the furloughs. Off on Friday furlough, worked Saturday and Sunday if needed on time and a half to catch up. Now will be getting back pay with interest.

This guy is not working for the best interest of this taxpayer.

I'll ask the same question that I asked during the recall that was never answered: How was Walker supposed to know if a router located 'feet from his office' is legal or not? All routers look pretty much the same in an office setting, I doubt that it had a sign on it that indicated that it wasn't put there by the IT department. Do governors have to be trained in IT these days in order to not be considered 'inept'?

Look, this string of unnecessary politically motivated attacks on Moammar Walker just has to stop.

The man has an extremely long history of honesty, integrity, bipartisanship, reasonableness, freedom from even the remotest hint of impropriety or corruption, and has continually worked only for the best interests of all the people of the great state of Wisconsin.

Therefore, please recognize that the subpoena is only a subterfuge to get Moammar, “under oath” and to use his perjured testimony to further the prosecutor’s case against our dear leader…

I'll answer your question: IF I requested it and approved it, as governor, it is legal, until proved otherwise; IF I don't have a clue regarding what it is, why it is there, I am going to ask many questions, and some one better have some good answers...

Frankly, I do not think Moammar would have noticed if they would have put a full-sized John Deere Tractor in his office.

With years of history as a backdrop for this type of corruption, most reasonably well informed political people know, not to allow electronic equipment to be put into their offices… too many people have been recorded, videotaped, prosecuted and sent off to the great Federal Club Med.

Additionally, this is the governor’s office; people just do not bring things in, wire them up and leave them there without permission. There has to be a request, a requisition for equipment, appropriate signatures and obviously, Moammar would have to give the final approval. I do not know any business or political office that has a router or server in it… this equipment is always kept in a climate-controlled room, managed by the IT of IS departments. This is just way out of the ordinary.

Finally, and I do have to admit that I fail to understand it, these politically powerful folks ALWAYS get their head handed to them in court, not usually for the initial crime, but for the intricate and stupid COVER-UP! [Think OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE HERE]

DOES WATERGATE RING ANY BELLS?

Moammar Wilson:

1) Do you think that every router in the office was personally authorized by Walker? Do they remove all the equipment every 4 years and expect the newly elected to design and install their own network? Just as with any office, the employees move in to their offices and they are told how to connect to the network--they usually aren't instructed on where the hardware is located or why the IT department placed it there.

2) There are wireless access points (routers--like the one in question) located throughout most business offices--they are not typically housed in the server rooms. They need to be out in the office areas where the laptops are in range of the radio signal.

3) Do you honestly think that a wireless router is so conspicuous that it would be noticed by anyone? It could easily be hidden under a desk or above a drop ceiling--invisible to everyone.

IF Moammar did not adequately evaluate his threat threshold when he took occupancy of the state house, he is even dumber than I know him to be. That is usually of paramount importance, especially to someone with his background, to make sure that his office is safe and communications are secure.

Additionally, anyone who would setup a wireless router in either a sensitive business or government environment is just asking for the type of jail time Moammar is going to face. I am not in government and we disable/pull both the CD-ROM and USB drives.

I am sure that some of your inane questions will be asked by the defense attorneys when Moammar goes to trial, and I am equally sure they will be blown away as whimsical.

You see, the main issue here revolves around PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and Moammar’s lack of it.

Either Moammar knew, approved, assisted in this misadventure, in which case you may write to him at a Federal Club Med or he was unaware, blissfully so, could not even manage a basic supervisory capability over his own personal staff, to the point of criminal malfeasance in office, in which case he should be summarily thrown out of office and then still be sent to a Federal Cub Med.

I do not know what you defenders call a man that just always seems, no matter what office he holds, to attract a cadre of criminals around him… maybe it is just coincidence…

The Godfather had the same sad issues…

As I understand it there are several investigations going on; Ms. Rindfleisch's issue, the theft of veterans' funds issue, and the illegal computer system. The total of people involved could be 17.

Cow, it is possible that someone might not recognize that a router is non-government issue I'll agree. But remember that "no more laptops" comment after the story began to break--that's the remark that made me perk up my ears. That exchange took place on the illegal system. The item that Walker should have recognized is the different email account address. He would have to sign in occasionally at least.

The larger issue for me is intent. A few years ago a colleague in the field told me about a group of interns who had installed an illegal router in the workplace. These guys wanted to play games on break. The system installed in the county executive's office wasn't for gaming. There was intent to take taxpayer money paid for county work and use it for partisan campaigning. Not good.

More to your disliking SHOULD be Chris Abele (current CE, who's had staffing issues in addition to pursuing the same course as Walker in terms of taxing and spending, curtailing services, etc. with no complaints from the left whatsoever), who's announced he's going to be asking county employees to kick in more for their health benefits while denying coverage to part timers:

I talked with my great friend, Bill Maher, late last night and got the Full Monty on just what the Tea Party, as opposed to the word I used in a post actually meant in the world of the sexually elite. Obviously, had I known that – and, I guess I am not the sexually elite – I would not have used that term.

Conversely, I am remarkably surprised by religious, conservative folks who’s head explodes when someone uses a swear word [insert your most hated swear word here] and yet have no qualms about sending our bombs, drones, and troops to kill people all over the planet, mostly tanned people, knowing full well that many innocent people are also going to be killed by our troops – collateral damage.

These same folks head explodes when you even suggest the elimination of the DEATH PENALTY – disproportionately used, again, on tanned people – in the entire USA.

Therefore, do not ever use a swear word [whatever: George Carlin’s famous 7] but kill as many people as you possibly can… that’s a great philosophy, policy, and political party…

When Scott Walker was Milwaukee County Executive, there is evidence Deputy Chief of Staff Kelly Rindfleisch had a wireless email system installed by Walker aide Tim Russell to use during office time to illegally campaign for Walker’s run for governor in 2010 using personal laptops twenty five feet from Scott Walker’s office.

Darlene Wink had been using county time to blog and do online support for Walker illegally and was caught in the act and had to resign.

According to evidence Scott Walker had sent an email to Walker aide Tim Russell using his campaign email address when he was supposed to be at work warning “We cannot afford another story like this one” and to stop using laptops, websites and other illegal usages while working.

Walker has continued to say he knew nothing while spending tens of thousands on a criminal legal defense fund.

Walker was using taxpayer money to run for Governor operating in his office on an illegal net setup.

This is the smoking gun where Scott Walker is John Doe.
